In case you never knew this exist, it’s a fast, convenient, contactless identity service that uses your palm – just hover to enter, identify, and pay.  With the world going more contactless, this could expand in many places of business.

First introduced in 2020, this device will scan your palm without you touching the device, it can be configured to identify a person and then give them access to a site or configure it to make patrons pay for their purchase.  The only places it been used right now Amazon Go,  Amazon 4-Star, Amazon Books, Amazon Pop Up, Amazon Go Grocery & Whole Foods Market.  Amazon wants its palm recognition technology in stores, stadiums, office buildings and you don’t need an Amazon account to use the service, just your phone number and a credit card.  If you decide not to use the service anymore then you will be able to delete your biometric from Amazon servers.  To sign up, you need to go into one of the stores listed above.  This is not exclusive to Amazon, other companies will have the opportunity to customize for their particular business.

Okay this technology that’s going to add to the brave new world of contactless interactions, whether it’s paying for goods and services or getting access to a building, we all eventually won’t be touching a lot of surfaces or buttons.  You can already tap to pay, so more and more people will accept this method and others especially with the comfort that they don’t have to touch something that someone else already touches.  I’ll take it!
