Amazon has updated the Fire TV remote with additional buttons, the Alexa button is now blue instead of black to stand out on the remote. You can now get to your favorite content quickly with preset app buttons for Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, and Hulu. The remote can still control your compatible TV, soundbar, and receiver. Last but not least, you can use the Guide button to see all your live channel and program listings in one place. This is only compatible with Fire TV Stick Lite, Fire TV Stick (2nd Gen & later), Fire TV Stick 4K, Fire TV (3rd Gen), and Fire TV Cube (1st & later). Not compatible with Fire TV Edition Smart TVs, Fire TV Stick (1st Gen), Fire TV (1st Gen) & Fire TV (2nd Gen).

These new preset buttons are cool, but I would rather have buttons I could map to any app because if I don’t have any of these services these buttons are useless. It would be cool to be able to configure the buttons inside the settings to my most-used apps. I would be willing to pay for that remote the day it’s released.
